The Alliston Lions Club has established along with community partners, Alliston Business Improvement Association, Youth Haven and the OPP a program to provide immediate help and support to anyone who is in crisis or feeling unsafe within our downtown.
The premise of this program is provide safe haven for the public particularly our youth who feels unsafe in any way and require help, they can enter a Safe Business location and staff will provide support.

The program is open to businesses designated/ approved as a Safe Business location within the New Tecumseth area.
Staff at any Safe Business location will provide access to their safe location and support in calling a safe guardian and or 911 support, if required. Youth would be permitted to stay at the location until their support arrives.
Businesses will also be provided with cards that can be given to the youth to help them to connect to local services if applicable.
There is no cost for program involvement as the Alliston Lions Club has generously covered all costs affiliated with the program.

- New Tecumseth Safe Business program is a community program where local businesses, identified by the Safe Business Sticker , provide a safe place where any youth in crisis can enter to get immediate support and help.
- All Safe Business licensed locations will have a Safe Business sign as located below displayed in their window. (Image)
- Any youth under the age of 18 can get help at the Safe Business locations.
- If you are in public and feel unsafe in any way and require help, you can enter a Safe Business location and staff will provide support.
